Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection: The campaign to provide financial assistance for children's back-to-school preparations continues in the Vitebsk region

The region continues its campaign to provide financial assistance for preparing children for the new academic year.

In accordance with the State Program "People's Health and Demographic Security" for 2021-2025, families raising three or more children receive a one-time financial aid for the academic year for each student enrolled in general secondary and special education institutions (at the level of general secondary education). This aid is paid from the local budget and amounts to 30 percent of the subsistence minimum budget in effect on August 1 of the calendar year, which currently stands at 98.55 rubles.

As of August 8, 2022, 5.1 thousand large families (10.4 thousand children) received assistance, which is about 50% of all large families with schoolchildren. 1.0 million rubles were allocated for these purposes.

Low-income families, families with children with disabilities, or parents with disabilities also receive state support through the involvement of funds from enterprises and organizations, sponsorship, state targeted social assistance, and funds from charitable foundations and public organizations.

As of August 8, 2022, 2.2 thousand families (4.6 thousand children) received such assistance totaling 452.1 thousand rubles.
