Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection: work is underway in the Vitebsk region to provide financial assistance for the preparation of children for the new academic year

The region is carrying out work to provide financial assistance for the preparation of children for the 2021-2022 academic year.

As of August 9, 2021, state support was provided to 5664 large families (11489 children) for a total amount of 1.1 million rubles; 714 large families (1908 children) received assistance at their place of work (funds from trade union organizations and employers), they were provided with humanitarian and charitable assistance for a total amount of 85.3 thousand rubles.

In addition to large families, low-income families are also provided with assistance for school preparation. Within the framework of state targeted social assistance, 169 families of this category (250 children) received financial support for a total amount of 65.4 thousand rubles. Assistance was provided at the place of work to 452 low-income families (590 children), and 20 families received humanitarian assistance.

Labor, employment and social protection departments of district executive committees, administrations of districts in Vitebsk organize joint campaigns with the Belarusian Children's Fund, the Belarusian Republican Youth Union, the Belarusian Red Cross Society, the Belarusian Women's Union, the Association of Christian Evangelical Faith in the Vitebsk Region and the charitable organization "Caritas" to attract charitable and humanitarian assistance.

At the initiative of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee and the Vitebsk City Organization of the Belarusian Red Cross Society, the charity event "Let's Get Children Ready for School" is being held (collection of children's clothing, shoes, school and stationery supplies from the public has been organized. Assistance is provided to children from single-parent, large families, families where parents are disabled persons of group I and II, families raising children with disabilities).

From August 1 to September 1, the territorial center for social services for the population of the Orsha district provides hairdressing services at a social hairdresser with a 30% discount to large families and families raising a child with a disability.
