Committee on Labor, Employment and Social Protection: In the Vitebsk region, family capital has been allocated to 367 large families

A strong family is the foundation for the development of the state, the keeper of human values, culture and historical continuity of generations, a factor of stability and development. Thanks to the family, the state is strengthened and develops, and the welfare of the people grows.

In the Republic of Belarus, a stable system of socio-economic support measures for families raising children has been established, including in the Vitebsk region.

Today, eleven types of state benefits are assigned and paid to families raising children in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Belarus.

In order to create additional conditions for strengthening the institution of families with children, upon the birth or adoption of a third or subsequent child, a family capital is assigned. The state provides an opportunity to use the funds of the family capital early for priority areas of life support for large families.

For low-income families, state targeted social assistance is provided, within the framework of which children under the age of two are provided with free nutrition.

Special attention and social support are given to families raising a child with disabilities.

Women who have given birth to and raised five or more children are awarded the high state award – the Order of Motherhood.

In order to increase the prestige of motherhood and strengthen the institution of the family, by a decision of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee in 2003, the prize named after Hero of the Soviet Union Z.M. Tusnolobova-Marchenko was established, which is annually awarded to women of the region on the eve of Mother's Day.

A stable system of state support measures for families raising children has been established in the Vitebsk region.

In the first quarter of 2021, a one-time payment was made upon the birth of twins or more children for the purchase of essential goods to 13 families (26 children) in the amount of 11.3 thousand rubles.

Family capital has been assigned to 367 large families in the region. In total, from January 1, 2015, to March 31, 2021, 10,561 families received it. Since January 1, 2020, 2,994 large families have applied for early disposal of family capital funds.

Material assistance for preparing children for the 2020-2021 academic year was provided to 20.8 thousand families (39.8 thousand children) in the amount of 2.3 million rubles, including from local budgets – 9.5 thousand large families (18.4 thousand children) in the amount of 972.7 thousand rubles.

In the first quarter of the current year, hourly childcare services were provided to a total of 147 families; 105 are raising twins, 4 are raising triplets, 37 are raising a child with a disability, and 1 has both parents with disabilities.

24 women of the region were awarded the Order of Motherhood (Q1 2021 – 50).

As of April 1, 2021, 24.4 thousand families raising minor children were registered with territorial centers for social services for the population, including 10,741 large families and 3,501 raising a child with a disability under the age of 18.

Families in difficult life situations receive patronage support. For January-March of the current year, social patronage services were provided to 601 families raising minor children.
