Committee on Labor, Employment and Social Protection: in the Vitebsk region, 19 disabled people underwent adaptation to work activities in 4 months of 2021

At the expense of the budget of the state non-budgetary social protection fund of the population of the Republic of Belarus and in accordance with the Regulation on the procedure for financing and compensating costs for the creation and preservation of workplaces for disabled persons, approved by the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus of 02.02.2009 No. 128, the Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee carries out:

  • financing of expenses for the creation of specialized workplaces in organizations whose property is owned by public associations of disabled persons (hereinafter referred to as organizations);
  • compensation of costs of organizations for the creation of workplaces for disabled persons;
  • compensation of costs of employers for the creation of workplaces, including specialized ones, for the employment of disabled persons;
  • compensation of costs of organizations for the preservation of workplaces for disabled persons.

Financing and compensation of costs of organizations and employers for the creation of workplaces for disabled persons are carried out in accordance with the tasks established by the decisions of local executive and administrative bodies.

Labor, employment and social protection bodies may compensate employers for costs related to the remuneration of disabled persons, the purchase of equipment, materials, and special clothing within the framework of organizing the adaptation of disabled persons to labor activities.

Adaptation of disabled persons to labor activities is a set of measures aimed at:

  • acquisition and improvement by disabled persons of professional knowledge, skills and abilities, taking into account their obtained or existing specialty (profession);
  • acquisition, restoration and development of labor abilities of disabled persons and their consolidation in the process of carrying out labor activities;
  • increasing the competitiveness of disabled persons in the labor market;
  • employment of disabled persons in accordance with their obtained or existing specialty (profession).

Adaptation of disabled persons to labor activities can be carried out in organizations of any organizational and legal forms and by

for individual entrepreneurs and can be carried out within a period of 6 to 12 months.

Employers wishing to adapt persons with disabilities to work must have the necessary opportunities and conditions for implementing measures to adapt persons with disabilities to work in accordance with the legislation.

The adaptation of persons with disabilities to work is carried out by employers based on referrals from labor, employment, and social protection authorities on a contractual basis.

Annually, within the framework of adaptation to work, the employment service places about 50 people with disabilities in professions such as PC operator, computer graphics operator, laundry and workwear repair worker (machinist), manager, salesperson, social worker, client service specialist, green construction worker, seamstress, WEB server administrator, and others.

In January – April 2021, adaptation to work was organized for 19 people with disabilities.
