Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection: in the Vitebsk region, over 10,000 people were employed on a permanent basis in 7 months
The implementation of the state program "Labor Market and Employment Promotion" is one of the key activities for the committee. In January-July of this year, 13.1 thousand people applied to the region's employment service for assistance in finding work, which is 1.5% less than in the same period last year. Of these, 5.8 thousand people were registered as unemployed.
"Over the past 7 months, 10.3 thousand residents of the region were employed in permanent jobs. The region's employment service sent 280 people for training in professions most in demand in the labor market. Temporary employment was provided for more than 3.5 thousand university students, college students, and schoolchildren. Assistance in organizing their own businesses was provided to 65 citizens who received state subsidies. In addition, adaptation to work activities was organized for 34 people with disabilities," the regional committee noted.
As of August 1, employers in the Vitebsk region declared 9.3 thousand job vacancies, an increase of almost 42% compared to the same period last year. The most in-demand professions among employers in the region were seamstresses, drivers, cashiers, conductors, masons, salespersons, repair fitters, turners, electrical fitters for repair and maintenance of electrical equipment, and electric gas welders, CNC machine operators. Among specialists and employees, there remains a consistently high demand for accountants, engineers, nurses, and doctors. In rural areas, employers are ready to hire tractor drivers, milking machine operators, livestock breeders, veterinarians, agronomists, and paramedics.
