The Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee spoke about additional protective measures in conditions of high temperatures

The basic list of adverse meteorological phenomena is provided in TKP 17.10-06-2008 "Environmental Protection and Nature Management. Hydrometeorology. Rules for compiling short-term weather forecasts for general purposes", approved by the Resolution of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus dated October 31, 2008 No. 3-T, which establishes the meaning of the term "strong heat" as a maximum air temperature of +30 – 34 C.

In accordance with Article 17 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On Labor Protection", the employer is obliged to ensure labor conditions at each workplace that comply with labor protection requirements, ensuring the preservation of life, health, and working capacity of employees in the process of labor activity.

To eliminate possible adverse working conditions and reduce the level of occupational risks, it is necessary to take additional measures to control:

  • the fire safety status of facilities located in the supervised territory, in accordance with the requirements of the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On Fire Safety" and Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus dated November 23, 2017 No. 7 "On the Development of Entrepreneurship".
  • compliance with the requirements of Directive of the President of the Republic of Belarus dated March 11, 2004 No. 1 "On Measures to Strengthen Public Safety and Discipline" and other measures aimed at preserving the life and health of employees;
  • compliance with anti-epidemic and sanitary-hygienic measures for the prevention of infectious diseases and food poisoning;
  • ensuring the drinking regime for employees, their provision with collective and individual protective equipment;
  • safe execution of work at high-risk facilities.

In addition, we consider it possible for employers to use additional protective measures against the adverse effects of harmful factors (additional personal protective equipment and rest rooms, regulation of working hours, establishment of various types of technological breaks and shift transfers in

in accordance with the requirements of the legislation).
