Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection: in 4 months of 2021, more than 6 thousand people applied for employment assistance in the Vitebsk region

According to the Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, as of May 1, 2021, there were 1462 unemployed people registered, which is 11.9 percent less than on May 1, 2020 (1660 people). 

The registered unemployment rate as of May 1, 2021, was 0.3 percent and has not changed compared to May 1, 2020. 

As of May 1, 2021, employers reported 7770 job vacancies, which is 27.4% more than on May 1, 2020 (6097). The demand for workers in blue-collar professions accounted for 63.7% of the total number of vacancies (as of May 1, 2020 – 62.2%). 

At the same time, there are 5 vacancies per 1 unemployed person. 

In January-April 2021, 6012 people applied for employment assistance, of whom 3528 people were registered as unemployed. 

Within the framework of the State Program "Labor Market and Employment Promotion" for 2021-2025, in January-April 2021: 

• 4157 people were employed in permanent jobs,

• 188 people were sent for training in professions in demand on the labor market,

• 1033 people participated in paid public works,

• 43 people received subsidies for organizing entrepreneurial activities,

• 10 families of unemployed people were relocated to a new place of residence and work.
