Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection: The creation of an accessible environment and the development of inclusive tourism were discussed in the Vitebsk region

These topics were discussed at the meeting of the Interdepartmental Council for Disability Issues under the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, chaired by the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Vladimir Penin.

The meeting was attended by heads of structural divisions of the regional executive committee, district executive committees, and representatives of public associations of disabled people. The Chairman of the Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Regional Executive Committee Alexander Khristoforov delivered a report on the creation of an accessible environment for disabled people and physically weak individuals. The Chairman of the Vitebsk organization of the NGO "BelTIZ" Konstantin Lamchanovsky highlighted the problematic issues in creating an accessible environment for visually impaired people.

Svetlana Astanina, head of the tourism and sports and health-improving work sector of the Department of Sports and Tourism of the Regional Executive Committee, spoke about the development of inclusive tourism in the Vitebsk region and the development of route tours for inclusive tourism.

Representatives of each department confirmed in their speeches the creation of an accessible environment at the planned facilities for 2021, taking into account a comprehensive approach.
