Vitebsk Regional Property Committee: Decree No. 184 provides tax benefits to organizations for unused facilities of former military towns

On May 13, the President of the Republic of Belarus signed Decree No. 184 "On unused and unsuitable for operation facilities of former military towns." The Decree grants the right to regional executive committees to determine the lists of such facilities.

In accordance with the Decree, state organizations are exempted from land and property taxes in respect of unused facilities of former military towns that are inexpedient to involve in economic circulation or demolish. There are 29 such facilities in the Vitebsk region today.

If state organizations have facilities of former military towns that are planned for involvement in circulation or demolition, such organizations may be exempted from land tax for a period of up to five years. There are currently 128 such facilities remaining in the Vitebsk region (120 of which are planned for demolition and 8 for involvement in economic circulation).
