Comprehensive work

The Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, in conjunction with the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Department of Internal Affairs of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, conducted a comprehensive inspection of the activities of prevention entities in the Ushachi District.

The working group of the regional prosecutor's office organized and held extraordinary meetings of the councils of public law and order points, studied the materials of the councils of public law and order points, assessing the effectiveness of their activities in preventing crimes and other offenses, as well as the available materials on the work of inspection commissions. In addition, decisions made by local authorities on crime prevention issues, as well as the organization of the work of the prevention and law and order department of the district internal affairs department, were studied.

The results of the measures taken indicate the existence of a number of problematic issues in the organization of work on the prevention of crimes and offenses, and the death of citizens from external causes in the Ushachi District. The activities of the district executive committee, as the main prevention entity in the region, the internal affairs department, and public associations require activation and an increase in their role in implementing both planned measures and timely response and adoption of effective measures, taking into account the developing crime situation.

Councils of public law and order points play a crucial role in carrying out prevention in their respective territories. However, the discussion of the results of participation in extraordinary meetings of the councils indicates that in most cases, the councils of public law and order points choose preventive conversations with individuals summoned and considered at meetings as their main function, while their powers to consider issues of legality and law and order, provide real assistance to individuals in resolving their domestic issues and problems, and, as a result, take measures to improve the situation in their subordinate territory, are not fully utilized.

Based on the results of the comprehensive inspection, a generalized representation on the elimination of violations of legislation on crime prevention was prepared for the chairman of the Ushachi District Executive Committee.
