The "round table" was attended by representatives of the security sector, the judiciary, lawyers, lecturers, and law students

Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherov is one of the basic (9 in total) educational institutions for training legal personnel for state bodies of the national security system, including for the prosecutor's offices of the Vitebsk region.

In order to improve the training of specialists, develop students' knowledge and skills in organizing and carrying out prosecutorial activities, conducting preliminary investigations, enhancing the prestige of the legal profession, as well as for live dialogue (communication) and exchange of experience between theory and practice, a round table is being held today with the participation of prosecutors, faculty members, law students, and employees of other interested departments on the topic "Law and Law Enforcement: Ways of Improvement".

During the round table, the powers of the state prosecutor in criminal proceedings will be discussed; issues of applying legal norms regulating illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs, qualification of crimes in criminal cases on illicit trafficking of psychoactive substances, illegal actions related to firearms, ammunition, and explosives; proposals for improving legislation on crimes against information security. Issues of organizing prosecutorial supervision over the compliance of court decisions in civil cases with the law, over the observance of legality during preliminary investigations, and the practice of prosecutorial supervision over the implementation of anti-corruption legislation will be raised.

In addition, the main requirements for candidates for service in the prosecutor's offices will be communicated. After all, the realities of the prosecutorial profession have always demanded high moral qualities from prosecutors: benevolence, respectfulness, patience, tact, a deep understanding of the social significance of prosecutorial activities, responsibility, balanced judgment, and humanity when exercising granted powers in accordance with the principles of legality and justice. They still remain so today.
