The logistics forum "Goods + Destination = Export" will be held in Vitebsk on November 20
The Vitebsk Logistics Forum "Goods + Destination = Export" will be held on November 20 at the Vitebsk Concert Hall. This was announced to journalists by Natalia Vorobyova, General Director of the Vitebsk Branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
According to expert estimates, up to 40% of companies in Eurasia have revised their supply routes over the past three years; the average cost of international transportation has increased by 25-30%, and delivery times by 15-20%. At the same time, companies that have managed to build flexible and multi-level logistics have maintained exports and even increased supply volumes by 10-15%. And Belarusian business has largely found itself at the center of these processes. "Today, logistics ultimately determines whether exports will be successful and the enterprise profitable. Logistics accounts for up to 30% of the added value of export operations. This means that competent supply chain management becomes a growth resource, not just a cost item. Hence the task is to learn to manage it, to know the problems and real solutions on how to deliver goods to the buyer faster, safer and more profitably," noted Natalia Vorobyova.
It is in this context that the need for a broad discussion of logistics issues in a live discussion format with the participation of cargo carriers, freight forwarders, manufacturers, and financiers has objectively arisen, she emphasized. "The idea of holding the forum was developed in cooperation with the Belarusian Association of International Road Carriers, and was discussed and supported by major Belarusian logistics operators, including Beltamozhservice, Belarusian Railway, and Belavia. This week, negotiations are underway on the format of participation in the forum by representatives of Russian ports of St. Petersburg, Astrakhan, Arkhangelsk, and other regions, and I note that active interest in the event has been expressed," said the General Director.
Approximately 20 Belarusian and Russian speakers from various fields have been invited to the forum. Forum participants include heads of logistics companies, industrial enterprises, foreign trade lawyers, experts in international contracts, and representatives of the financial, insurance, and IT sectors.
There will be two sessions. The first, a logistics session, will include a discussion of transport development trends, prospects for logistics development in Asia and Europe, country-specific transport features, optimal routes and types of transport under sanctions, and their effectiveness. The second session will cover applied aspects essential for logistics (forming transportation terms in international sale of goods contracts, Incoterms and key myths in their use, pre-shipment inspection, as well as upon goods arrival, cargo loss and damage risk insurance, payments and settlements for logistics support, harmonization of customs and transport legislation, nuances of applying the Convention on the Contract for the International Carriage of Goods by Road in the Republic of Belarus, conclusion and execution of carriage contracts, practical cases based on arbitration proceedings in the execution of carriage contracts).
"The focus is on practical cases and tools that genuinely reduce costs and speed up deliveries. We will strive to discuss how to act in changing realities, arrive at solutions, and provide ready-made tools for supply optimization. The forum will operate throughout the day on November 20," said Natalia Vorobyeva. "A specialized website has been created for the forum at https://logistics.cci.by/, where mandatory registration is required to participate."
