Large-scale projects in the agro-industrial complex and construction were discussed at the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee with representatives of a Chinese company
– We highly appreciate the interest of Chinese business in our region, – noted the head of the region. – Agriculture is one of the priority areas for our region, and we are interested in productions related to vegetable growing. Other projects of the Chinese side are also promising and in demand, in particular, peat extraction and real estate construction.
Alexander Subbotin expressed confidence that cooperation with the Chinese company will be an important step in the development of the region's agricultural sector and will contribute to the introduction of modern technologies in production.
The Chinese side, as explained by the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Anzhelika Nikitina, proposed a number of regional projects in the Verkhnedvinsk, Liozno districts, Polotsk, and Orsha. For several days, representatives of the company "Shandong Hualian Greenhouse Engineering" visited the districts of the Vitebsk region.
– Initially, we were talking about a greenhouse for growing flowers, and today peat production and processing, construction of hotels, residential areas, and open-ground vegetable growing have emerged. The prospects are great. We discussed the taxation system, land allocation, and construction standards. We paid attention to technologies that are somewhat different for the two countries, – said Anzhelika Nikitina.
Chen Hongliang, head of Shandong Hualian Greenhouse Engineering, outlined specific projects that the Chinese side would like to implement. These include growing vegetables at the agricultural branch of RUP "Vitebskenergo" – the "Vesna-Energo" greenhouse complex in Polotsk, growing strawberries in the Verkhnedvinsk district, constructing greenhouses for flowers in Orsha, and producing open-ground vegetables in the border area of the Liozno district. In addition, the company is ready to build residential areas and hotels, as well as engage in peat processing. The share of Chinese business participation in these projects ranges from 25 to 100%.
As emphasized by Anzhelika Nikitina, this is the first large-scale project for Vitebsk region with a Chinese company, which the head of state met with during his visit to China. It is valuable that our region has been chosen for its implementation.
