Multiplying the traditions of the military prosecutor's office

The Department for Supervision of Legislation Enforcement in the Troops of the Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office was established and has been operating since September 1, 2014.

Over time, it can be confidently stated that the prosecutor's office employees of the department are worthily continuing the traditions of the military prosecutor's office, which previously supervised the enforcement of legislation in the troops.

Three employees of the department previously served in the military prosecutor's office system. The head of the department, Senior Counselor of Justice Igor Korzhov, dedicated more than 20 years to this service.

It should be noted that the prosecutor's office employees of the department have harmoniously integrated into the general structure of the prosecutor's office employees of the regional prosecutor's office apparatus, and the tasks assigned to them for supervising the enforcement of legislation in the troops are being performed properly.

Inspections of the enforcement of various branches of legislation in the troops conducted in 2016, followed by the application of prosecutorial supervision measures, and the preventive work carried out jointly with the command of the serviced military units and formations, have ensured an adequate level of law and order and legality.

A downward trend in crime has emerged, from 21 crimes in 2015 to 15 crimes in the past year.

The department's task is to prevent unlawful manifestations in the troops. To this end, when visiting military units, department employees hold discussions with various categories of military personnel about the inadmissibility of committing crimes and the responsibility for them if committed. Military personnel who have committed offenses are officially warned about the inadmissibility of their repeated commission.

It is deemed necessary in 2017 to direct our efforts, first and foremost, towards supervising the enforcement of legislation aimed at ensuring the combat readiness of troops, preserving the health of military personnel, preventing deaths, injuries, violations of statutory rules of interaction between military personnel, preventing corruption offenses, and preventing and combating offenses.
