Security monitoring at water transport facilities

One of the priority areas of activity for transport prosecutor's offices is the supervision of the enforcement of legislation on traffic safety in water transport.

In order to ensure proper supervision of the enforcement of legislation aimed at the safe operation of water transport facilities, public safety, as well as the prevention of other negative consequences, the Vitebsk Transport Prosecutor's Office, during the 2020 navigation period, jointly with the senior inspector of the State Institution "Belarusian River Navigation Inspectorate", conducted a monitoring of compliance with safety rules at the water transport facilities of the "Vitebskvodtrans" branch, with an on-site visit.

During the monitoring, a number of violations of the current legislation in the operation of water transport facilities were identified, in connection with which appropriate acts were drawn up and recommendations were given for the elimination of existing shortcomings and violations, and one person was brought to administrative responsibility.
