The first educational, scientific and practical center for training lawyers in Belarus has been established at PSU

On April 26, 2016, the Prosecutor of Vitebsk Region, D.I. Dysko, took part in the opening of the regional educational and practical Law Center, established at the Faculty of Law of Polotsk State University.

The event was also attended by I.D. Noskevich, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus; V.M. Khomich, Director of the Scientific and Practical Center for Problems of Strengthening Legality and Law and Order of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Belarus; V.A. Devyatovsky, Deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus; N.N. Khamichyonok, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Court, and O.B. Kienko, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Economic Court; V.V. Shalukhin, Head of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus for Vitebsk Region; Yu.A. Shchetko, Head of the State Committee of Forensic Examinations of the Republic of Belarus for Vitebsk Region; A.Yu. Grigoriev, Deputy Head of the Vitebsk Customs; A.S. Pujewicz, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Bar Association; and representatives of the Novopolotsk City Executive Committee and Polotsk District Executive Committee.

During the roundtable discussion on "Interaction of Legal Science and Practice: State and Prospects for Development," the Regional Prosecutor, D.I. Dysko, supported the university's initiative regarding the necessity of opening this center. He noted that it would allow for improving the training of specialists, focusing more on the practical component during their education, and organizing and conducting joint scientific and practical events on the most relevant issues of the development and improvement of legal science and practice.

Following the event, an Agreement on Cooperation in the Sphere of Education, Science, and Practice was signed, establishing

of the regional educational, scientific and practical Law Center.

Also, an excursion to the new, modern buildings of the Faculty of Law of Polotsk State University was organized for the participants. They got acquainted with the classrooms, the courtroom, the forensics laboratory, the branch of the university's scientific library, and conference, negotiation, and meeting rooms equipped with modern equipment.
