Last week, during special events conducted near the Belarusian-Russian section of the border, Belarusian customs officers established further facts of illegal transportation of pears.
In total, about 40 tons of fruit worth more than 275 thousand Belarusian rubles were intended to be exported from Belarus to Russia.
In the first case, Mogilev customs officers stopped a VOLVO truck, which contained 20 tons of pears. The driver did not have the necessary shipping documents and certificates confirming the safety of the products.
Vitebsk customs officers recorded a similar violation.
Another 20 tons of fruit were being transported in circumvention of the law, hidden under empty boxes, in a MERCEDES vehicle.
Customs initiated administrative proceedings against the Belarusian carriers in accordance with Article 13.12 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Belarus. The fine, according to the sanctions of the article, will be up to 50% of the value of the subject of the administrative offense.
