The meeting reviewed the practice of exercising control and preventive supervision over convicts

A joint interdepartmental meeting was held at the Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office with the participation of prosecutors, employees of the territorial internal affairs bodies of the region, representatives of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee and the regional court. The meeting reviewed the practice of applying Articles 77 and 78 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, as well as the implementation of control and preventive supervision over convicted persons.

During the meeting, problematic issues of compliance with legislation were discussed regarding the control exercised by internal affairs bodies over the behavior of convicted persons with suspended sentences and conditional non-application of punishment, as well as difficulties in law enforcement practice.

Based on the results of the meeting, a decision was made aimed at improving work in the specified areas of activity.
