According to the chairman, law enforcement agencies should focus their attention on large-scale embezzlement causing serious damage to the state. The first deputy head of the Internal Affairs Directorate, Dmitry Rezenkov, provided the following figures at the meeting. For 8 months of this year, 541 crimes were committed in the region in the field of combating economic crimes (excluding unsolved cases of counterfeiting), half of which are classified as grave and especially grave. This often involves very large sums of bribes and embezzlement – these are corruption-related crimes. "The material damage from the detected crimes amounted to Br2.3 million, and from completed criminal cases – Br5.4 million. Damage amounting to Br4.2 million has been compensated, and assets worth Br1.4 million have been seized," said Dmitry Rezenkov.

According to him, damage compensation has been ensured by more than 100%, and cases currently under investigation will also lead to the return of budget funds. Dmitry Rezenkov specifically noted the work of law enforcement officers in overseeing public procurement of goods, works, and services by enterprises in the region. Preventive measures are being applied to prevent unfavorable deals and unjustified spending of budget funds on the implementation of, for example, investment projects. For the entire year 2015, economic crime units prevented damage amounting to over Br93 billion (undenominated rubles). In the current year, police officers have uncovered nine crimes in the sphere of public procurement, while only three were uncovered in the entire previous year. The meeting also addressed issues of unjustified intermediation, working with unverified partners without prepayment, and selling products to private entities below cost.
