«Not to remain indifferent»

Assistant Prosecutor of Vitebsk city, O.V. Bolobolova, demonstrated an active civic stance in protecting the rights and legitimate interests of citizens, and professionalism in suppressing the unlawful actions of two individuals in a state of intoxication, who on 30.11.2016, in the evening, near a residential building in Vitebsk, attempted to openly steal property from a man they were clearly acquainted with, using physical force.

In the prevailing situation, Olga Vladimirovna did not remain indifferent to the unlawful actions being committed. Without considering any potential negative consequences for herself, she actively intervened in the events, preventing the perpetrators from completing their criminal intent and assisting in the apprehension of one of the criminals. As a result, the victim's health and property were not significantly harmed.

On the fact of the criminal encroachment, the Vitebsk City Department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus initiated a criminal case on 01.12.2016 under Part 1 of Article 14 and Part 2 of Article 206 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus. On 06.01.2017, the Prosecutor's Office of Vitebsk city forwarded it to the court of the Zheleznodorozhny District of Vitebsk city for substantive consideration.

For the professionalism demonstrated in countering the committed crime and apprehending the suspects, the Prosecutor of Vitebsk Region, V.V. Sushchinsky, announced a commendation to the Assistant Prosecutor of Vitebsk city, Class 2 Lawyer O.V. Bolobolova. The commendation was ceremoniously presented to her at the final board meeting of the Prosecutor's Office of Vitebsk Region.
