Rash act

In 2015, citizen F., who had no prior convictions, found a Group 2 disability certificate in the documents of his deceased father. This certificate granted the right to free travel on public railway transport, specifically on urban line trains. Without much thought, the protagonist of the article replaced his father's photograph with his own, thereby forging the certificate.

In March 2018, while on the "Alesha – Polotsk" train, F. decided to use the certificate, presenting it to a traveling cashier. The cashier, suspecting nothing, issued a travel ticket to the "disabled person," and F., having successfully executed his plan, continued his journey.

Only a few days later, F. was detained by transport police officers for being in a public place while intoxicated. During a personal search, the very certificate and the "cashless" ticket were seized from F.'s pocket. Upon discovering the discrepancy between his passport data and the data indicated in the certificate, the transport police officers summoned an investigative team...

In court, F. stated that he always had money for travel. He is officially employed and receives a good salary. He was simply curious whether he could successfully use the forged certificate.

Thus, F.'s curiosity led to his conviction under Part 1 of Article 380 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus for forging a certificate and using a knowingly false document, resulting in a fine of 980 rubles.

The court's sentence has entered into legal force.
