Uncleaned yards and dampness in the apartment. What residents of the Vitebsk region complained about to the head of the region, Nikolai Sherstnev, during a "hotline"
The majority of calls received by the head of the region concerned housing and communal services. People complained that pedestrian paths were not sprinkled in time during icy conditions, resulting in injuries, broken arms and legs. Such an incident happened to a resident of Vitebsk, living on Voinov-Internatsionalistov Street, who slipped in the courtyard of his house and is now forced to be on sick leave for three months.
Similar cases occurred in the private sector of the regional center and Orsha. However, there could have been more such calls. Unfortunately, the relevant services are not coping with their duties, which leads to sad consequences.
Of course, after appealing to the chairman of the regional executive committee, order will be restored at the mentioned addresses, but it is necessary, as Nikolai Sherstnev emphasized, not to act like a fire department, but to establish systematic work.

These include cleaning stairwells in apartment buildings, the absence of which was also complained about by residents of the Vitebsk region.
A pensioner living in Shumilino appealed to Nikolai Sherstnev with tears in her voice. The apartment in the house number 13 on 40 Years of October Street became a truly unhappy place for Valentina Gordeevna. "The walls cry all year round, it's impossible to live due to dampness," the woman said.
The same problem affects other residents of the first floor, while the utility workers shrug their shoulders. The chairman of the regional executive committee instructed the local authorities to investigate and resolve this issue.
A resident of the building at 26 Chernyakhovsky Street, building 5, in Vitebsk, also complained about dampness in her apartment. The family does not use the room where there is mold on the walls, and the employees of the housing management office, whom the woman constantly contacts, provide no coherent answers. This issue is also under control.
Residents of the village of Koptevichi in the Chashniki district have to walk two kilometers for water. This settlement is located not far from the district center; there are only two water pumps for 50 households, and people have long been promised a solution to the water supply problem.
As it turned out, a new well has already been built, a network has been laid, and a de-ironing station will be erected. However, it took an appeal to the head of the region for the relevant services to speed up the work. Local authorities promised that by March of next year, the residents of Koptevichi will have water.
The chairman of the regional executive committee demanded that an opportunity be found within a few days to pay the wages of the workers of the Masherov State Farm in the Senno district. People have been owed wages for two months, and two calls were received on this issue during the "direct line."
Some appeals will require further study.
In particular, the possibility of building a new store in the Orsha district, far from the center; privatizing service housing belonging to Polotsk Rayagroservice; and preserving and modernizing the gas station in the Vetrino area of the Polotsk district.
A total of 20 calls were received from different regions of the oblast. All appeals have been taken under control. The head of the department for work with citizens' and legal entities' appeals of the regional executive committee, Ilona Shulga, noted that out of 24 instructions given following the previous "direct lines," 20 have been completed, and four require time. Two officials have been held accountable.
Some calls to the head of the region began with gratitude for help in resolving certain issues. Vladimir Tkachenko, a resident of Vitebsk, is ready to join these words. At one time, he appealed to Nikolai Sherstnev with a request to make a stop in the center of Boroniki. Now, to his joy and the joy of other people living in this remote part of Vitebsk, the bus stops in a more convenient place.
