30 years of the institution of the presidency in Belarus are being celebrated. It was on this day that delegations from all districts of the Vitebsk region gathered for a large-scale forum initiated by regional structures of public associations and political parties. Thus, a patriotic event took place on Victory Square, during which students of the military department of VSU named after P. Masherov unfurled a flag with the slogan "For the Batka!". Afterwards, a festive procession saw the leadership of the region and the city, labor collectives, public associations, and political parties proceed from Freedom Square to the Summer Amphitheater.
– It was a wonderful forum. The foundation of our remarkable country is built by patriots – people of various professions united by a sense of love for their land, country, and our President, – emphasized the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin. – We have had both ups and downs, but we are confidently developing our country. We have gone through these 30 years together, marked by quality. Cities, the region, and the country are improving, which confirms that we have chosen the right path proposed by the President. In the words of our leader: we will earn our own happiness, and if we put in the effort, we will do everything for our beloved country!
The holiday was also congratulated by the authorized representative of the head of state for the Vitebsk region, the Minister of Agriculture of Belarus, Anatoly Linevich, who stressed that every Belarusian bears responsibility for the fate of our country.
The President's Aide – Inspector for the Vitebsk Region, Sergey Levkovich, added that this event is overflowing with a sense of patriotism.
– A little over six months ago, when seeing me off to the Vitebsk region, the President said words that should guide a leader of any rank and level. All tasks are implemented by people, everything should be grounded in life! – noted Sergey Levkovich.
On the stage of the Summer Amphitheater, thematic creative performances were presented to the forum participants, and speakers discussed the achievements and development prospects of the Vitebsk region and our country.
– 30 years ago, our people found themselves at a crossroads. Having gained statehood after the collapse of the Soviet Union, we had to choose our further path of development. On the wave of the collapse of the USSR, outright scoundrels came to power, who tried to push us onto the path of rampant nationalism, discord and enmity with our fraternal peoples, our neighbors. Any ideas aimed at dividing the fraternal Slavic peoples were put forward, there were attempts to abandon the Russian language. Where this path leads, we can now, after time has passed, see by looking at our western and southern neighbors, – emphasized the Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies, Dmitry Demidov. – The wisdom and will of the people brought to power a young, courageous, honest politician – Alexander Lukashenko. The person who was not afraid to take responsibility for the fate of our country. He knew and felt our history, traditions, and culture very well. Thanks to the President, today we are building a free, independent, prosperous country. Thanks to the policy of preserving historical and cultural heritage, our spiritual and moral values, we are confident that neither we nor our children will ever become rootless people, farm laborers on our own native land. We know for sure: Belarus is our country. Alexander Lukashenko is our President, our Batka!
