Alexander Lukashenko appointed new governors to the Vitebsk and Mogilev regions

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has appointed new governors to the Vitebsk and Mogilev regions. The head of state made the corresponding personnel decision on December 13.

Vice Premier Alexander Subbotin has been appointed Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, and Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic Anatoly Isachenko will head the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee.

"As for, Alexander Mikhailovich, the Vitebsk region. This is your homeland, according to my data, and I feel it myself, you are not indifferent to it. Just like all of us to the land where we worked for a long time and where we became who we are. Everything is there for you," Alexander Lukashenko noted.

The President recalled that Alexander Subbotin had directly participated in the development of new approaches to the development of the Vitebsk region, especially in the field of agriculture in the region, and the creation of integration structures based on farms.

"We agreed with you as Vice Premier that we would seriously look at how things are going in the Vitebsk region. We can no longer calmly watch how some issues are being resolved. And they are not being resolved in all areas as we thought," the head of state emphasized. - We agreed that this winter we would look at some production associations - these integration structures - and draw appropriate conclusions."

Alexander Lukashenko also drew the new governor's attention to resolving previously entrusted issues, for example, the development of the Orsha Meat Processing Plant. Alexander Subbotin supervised this production even when he was Deputy Prime Minister. The President also mentioned the Miory Metal Rolling Plant, noting that he intends to visit this enterprise and familiarize himself with its work.

"So, there are quite a few problems. It will be easy for you to get up to speed. But I also ask you: do not "discard" the current governor. You must use his experience, no matter what job he holds after this. No governor is left without a purpose: they have made their contribution to the development of the regions. But new people are needed," the head of state emphasized.
