Alexander Subbotin: agricultural machinery must be treated more carefully to avoid costly major repairs
Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin and heads of districts visited the Vitebsk Engine Repair Plant, where they learned about the enterprise's capabilities in repairing agricultural machinery and its new products.
"The sowing campaign is almost complete, with only corn, buckwheat, and millet left to be sown. We are already preparing for fodder harvesting, crop gathering, and even for next year's sowing. We visited the engine repair plant to show what they do here, how they restore equipment, the condition in which parts arrive at the enterprise, and what the final result is, and how complex this task is. The machinery at the region's agricultural enterprises is heavily worn out, and sometimes consumables are not replaced on time. It hasn't always been properly maintained, and now it requires titanic efforts to bring a large number of units into working condition and get them out to the fields. In this regard, we are critical of ourselves. However, if everything is done wisely and on time, and the machinery is treated more carefully, it will be much easier. Then large sums will not be needed for expensive major repairs. The qualifications of specialists and production capacities are sufficient for working with machinery, but one always wants more, there is room for growth. Nevertheless, we are quite successfully coping with both the preparation of machinery and the conduct of spring field work," said the chairman of the regional executive committee.

Alexander Subbotin noted that in about a week or a week and a half, a seminar on fodder harvesting is planned, which will be held in the field.
