Alexander Subbotin held working meetings with the heads of diplomatic missions of Brazil and China
Festival time creates a favorable atmosphere not only for recreation and cultural exchange, but also for expanding contacts and strengthening business cooperation. This was discussed during working meetings between the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin and the heads of the diplomatic missions of Brazil and China in Belarus, held on the eve of the official opening of the cultural forum.
For the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil to the Republic of Belarus, Mr. Bernardo Jorge Leopoldo de Garcia Klingl, this trip was the first official visit to the Vitebsk region. In addition to negotiations with Alexander Subbotin, the ambassador took part in the opening of the exhibition "Rendezvous with Brazil" at the Art Museum, which opened on July 12. The trip program also included visits to UP "Polymerkonstruktsiya", ChUP "Vitsstroitekhmash" and the Orsha Flax Mill.
In recent years, the cooperation of the Vitebsk region with Chinese regions has maintained a consistently good development dynamic. The theme of deepening interaction became the leitmotif of the meeting between Alexander Subbotin and the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Belarus Xie Xiaoyong.
In 2023, enterprises of the region constantly visit China in search of necessary equipment and modern technologies. For example, in May, a business mission was organized for enterprises of the Vitebsk Concern "Meat and Dairy Products" to establish contacts with manufacturers of modern packaging materials, deboning lines, and energy-saving freezing units.
At the beginning of summer, a delegation from the Vitebsk region took part in the Harbin Fair. As reported by the Economics Committee of the Regional Executive Committee, based on the results of the trip, Vitebsk manufacturers have reached agreements on negotiations in the III quarter of the current year with enterprises of the petrochemical industry and pharmaceuticals. Agreements were also reached on a visit of Chinese companies to the Vitebsk region to familiarize themselves with the needs for modernizing the region's dairy industry enterprises. In early June, representatives of a Chinese machine-building company visited the Gluboksky and Vitebsk meat processing plants, as well as the Gluboksky Condensed Milk Plant.

Among the partner regions with which sister city ties have been established are Heilongjiang, Shandong, Guizhou, and Jiangxi provinces, as well as a number of cities and administrative districts of provinces. In addition, based on the results of the visit to Harbin, Novopolotsk and Daqing are interested in establishing such relations.
Delegations from Guizhou and Heilongjiang provinces took part in the economic forum events in Vitebsk in May 2023. Memoranda of cooperation were signed with enterprises of the meat and dairy industry and the Dubrovno flax mill.
Since 2021, the number of contacts between universities has increased significantly; each university in the region today has ties with at least five universities and colleges in the provinces of the People's Republic of China. In 2023, representatives of all universities visited China on business trips, and at this stage, issues of increasing the number of students and undergraduates from China are being worked out. In addition, the possibilities of creating a Center for Traditional Chinese Medicine in Vitebsk are being discussed with a university in Guizhou province.

This has created a basis for discussing the content and terms of implementation of interregional programs and the organization of business missions for business circles.
