The head of the northern region, at a meeting with young people, noted the importance of Constitution Day – this is the main document that contains the canons of the state's existence. "The Constitution also dynamically changes through a referendum, the will of our people. Two years ago, we updated the Constitution," Alexander Subbotin recalled. "And it seemed that things that are self-evident needed to be embedded in the Basic Law. This is that family is a marriage between a man and a woman, that one must defend the Motherland and take care of one's health."
More than 20 people were invited to the award ceremony. These are some of the best schoolchildren and gymnasium students of the Vitebsk region among their peers. "Despite your young age, you are already outstanding in your respective fields: some in science, some in studies, and some in sports," said Alexander Subbotin. "I would like to wish you to remember this significant day. You have taken another step in becoming a citizen of the Republic of Belarus."
