Alexander Subbotin: State symbols of Belarus reflect the connection of generations and the code of the nation

In Vitebsk, the Day of the State Flag, State Emblem, and State Anthem was celebrated in a solemn atmosphere, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
For the first time in Belarus, a unified holiday is being celebrated, honoring the main symbols of our state – the flag, the emblem, and the anthem. Residents of Vitebsk, representatives of city and regional authorities, youth, and veterans attended the solemn ceremony, which took place at one of the highest points of the regional center – on the platform near the regional executive committee.

Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Aleksandr Subbotin recalled that the initiative for the innovation came from the head of state, who voiced the relevant proposal during the Address to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly, which took place in March. "All three symbols unite us in the most important moments in the fate of the Fatherland - from state holidays to sports victories, they strengthen national accord and the patriotic spirit of the Belarusian people. Today, our country preserves its independence, despite external pressure, the desire to impose foreign rules on us, to create noise, including aimed at public desecration of Belarusian symbols. Such incidents are criminal, they cannot be forgiven. There is no place for aggressive elements and phrases in state symbols. They reflect the connection of generations and the code of the nation, the purposefulness and diligence of the Belarusian people, their desire to live in peace and defend their Motherland," Aleksandr Subbotin emphasized.

The head of the region also recalled that a native of Senno district, whose pattern formed the basis of the ornament adorning the Belarusian flag, is related to the creation of one of the state symbols.

Representatives of the younger generation took an oath of allegiance to the state flag, emblem, and anthem: "We swear to pass on the memory of generations, to be worthy citizens of the Republic of Belarus, to preserve peace and harmony on our land, to be patriots all our lives and to pass on love for the Motherland to our descendants."
