The ventilator was handed over to the Vitebsk Regional Children's Clinical Center as part of the 'Our Children' campaign.
– This is an important gift for the healthcare institution as part of the republican charity campaign "Our Children" and the joint project of the Belarusian Peace Foundation and Patio CJSC "High Five for Goodness!" – emphasized the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Vyacheslav Durnov. – The most important thing is that this device is very much needed by children; it will provide specific, life-saving assistance. We transfer it with all our heart!
The portable, user-friendly device, as reported by the chief physician of the VODCC, Galina Puzanova, is intended for children who are undergoing treatment not in the intensive care unit, but in somatic departments, for example, surgical or endocrinological. Under certain conditions, a child with a severe pathology who cannot breathe on their own can be discharged home with this device. Center specialists train parents on how to use it and provide supervision – at least once a week, an anesthesiologist visits to check the device's operating parameters, provide consultations, and also supply consumables for the maintenance of the medical equipment. The Children's Center has more than one such device, but each of them is in demand and vitally necessary for young patients who require palliative care.
As reported by the director of the Vitebsk branch of the Belarusian Peace Foundation, Tatyana Tumanova, as part of the joint project of the Belarusian Peace Foundation and Patio CJSC "High Five for Goodness!", it is planned to transfer ventilators and other medical equipment to children's healthcare institutions worth more than 1 million rubles in total.
During the "Our Children" campaign in the Vitebsk region, children from Novopolotsk, Braslav, Rossony, and other settlements will receive gifts from the foundation worth more than 10 thousand rubles.
