More than 200 representatives of regional organizations will take part in the Vitebsk Region Days in Pskov
The decision to hold the region days in the format of exchange events was made following the meeting between the chairman of the regional executive committee Alexander Subbotin and his Pskov counterpart Mikhail Vedernikov during the July visit of the official Vitebsk delegation to the Pskov region. These platforms are planned to be made traditional for the development of interregional ties, reviving well-established forms of work to strengthen the relationship between the neighboring regions of Belarus and Russia.
As reported in the economics committee of the regional executive committee, the program of the three-day event will consist of three main blocks — a trade fair, an industrial exhibition, and performances by creative groups of the Vitebsk region. The best venues in the Russian regional center have been provided for the placement of expositions, including the "Prostoria" sports and entertainment center, where, among other things, business communication is planned to be organized.
The trade fair will widely feature consumer goods produced in the Vitebsk region, including food products and light industry goods, the quality of which is well known far beyond the Dvina region. At the industrial products exhibition, it will be possible to assess the export potential of the Vitebsk region, as well as the products of machine-building and light industry enterprises, manufacturers of instruments, medical and lifting equipment, and a number of other fields of activity.
Investment proposals from organizations of the Vitebsk region interested in establishing cooperation with Russian partners are also planned to be placed here.
The industrial exhibition will serve as a backdrop for one of the central events – the presentation of the economic and cultural potential of the Vitebsk region, to which heads of authorities, enterprises, and organizations of the Pskov region are invited. During the meeting, it is planned to separately introduce representatives of the Russian region to the opportunities and development prospects of FEZ "Vitebsk", as well as the Vitebsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which can provide comprehensive support to businesses in foreign economic activities. Separately, the business program includes a discussion of cooperation directions for import substitution, including an analysis of the areas and sectors in which enterprises of the Vitebsk and Pskov regions can develop interaction on this topic. This instruction was given by the heads of the two regions during the July visit of the Vitebsk delegation.
A reciprocal event of the Pskov region in Vitebsk is planned for 2023, the economics committee added.
