More than 270 residents of the Vitebsk region underwent training with the assistance of the employment service in January-September

In the Vitebsk region, over 270 people received training in January-September with the assistance of the employment service. This was reported by the Committee for Labor, Employment, and Social Protection of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
Residents of the northern region who experience difficulties finding employment actively utilize the opportunity to acquire new knowledge and skills for subsequent employment. Training, retraining, and skill enhancement are provided in professions that are in demand on the labor market. "The duration of the courses is up to 12 months, and the employment service guarantees funding for training-related expenses. At the request of the unemployed, such courses can be organized with guaranteed employment if there are corresponding applications from employers. In January-September, 275 people received training with the assistance of labor, employment, and social protection bodies. 259 unemployed individuals were directed to training, 207 of whom were trained for employers with guaranteed employment. This is almost 80% of those directed to training," the committee explained.

Among the most in-demand professions were plumber, building and facility maintenance and repair worker, and electric gas welder. Residents of the Vitebsk region also willingly underwent training to work as forklift operators, manicure and pedicure specialists, cooks, salespersons, spinners, and hairdressers. Many completed courses on safe methods of operating lawnmowers and brush cutters, as well as classes on the basics of entrepreneurship and business planning. Following these courses, 24 individuals who underwent training received subsidies to start their own businesses.

"The range of professions for employment is wide. In October-December, groups will be formed in the region for retraining in the specialties of 'building and facility maintenance and repair worker', 'thermal insulation installer', 'plumber'. Those wishing to can undergo training as a cook, confectioner, baker, hairdresser, spinner, as well as a building and facility maintenance and repair worker, tractor driver-machinist, and boiler operator. Training courses on the basics of entrepreneurial activity are also planned," the committee added.
