More than 30 ambulances are planned to be replaced in the Vitebsk region this year
The northern region plans to modernize the ambulance service and practically complete the process of strengthening the material and technical base of the service by 2025. "We plan to replace all vehicles that have over 100% of their service life with new vehicles equipped with medical equipment according to the ambulance vehicle staffing table," said the chief physician.
According to him, this year the Vitebsk region intends to replace 33 ambulances. In total, the service's vehicle fleet has 140 vehicles, and the replacement will continue in the future. Viktor Gomonov explained that the vehicle fleet needs to be updated almost annually, as vehicle parts wear out, and consequently, the vehicle loses its original technical characteristics.
The chief physician of the regional ambulance service center recalled that earlier in January, the vehicle fleet of the Orsha Inter-district Ambulance and Emergency Medical Care Center was updated. In December, such vehicles also appeared in Novopolotsk and Polotsk - two per city. The plan for 2022-2024 provides for the acquisition of 18 ambulances. Orsha, Polotsk, and Novopolotsk will receive two more vehicles by the end of the year. Last year, according to the chief physician, the vehicle fleet for the departments in Chashniksky, Tolochinsky, and Dubrovensky districts was completely updated.
