More than 330 large families in the Vitebsk region received new apartments in the first half of the year
More than 52% of large families in the Vitebsk region were provided with desired living space in the first half of the year. Also, almost 610 families in this category have been directed to housing construction.
"In the Vitebsk region, 56.6 thousand families are registered as needing to improve their housing conditions, including 2.7 thousand large families. Last year, more than 4.1 thousand apartments were commissioned for this category of citizens, of which 2.4 thousand were built with state support. In 2021, 1330 large families received their own living space. Any family registered as needing housing and eligible for state support is immediately invited for housing construction," Alexander Shidlovsky emphasized.
In addition, Decree No. 375 of October 1, 2021 "On measures to provide state support" is in effect. According to it, preferences are provided in districts for citizens who are registered as needing to improve their housing conditions in regional centers and Minsk. For these citizens, district executive committees have established a share of residential premises in each apartment building under construction in settlements with a population of up to 20 thousand people. State support can be provided upon relocation. This information has been sent to all regional cities and Minsk, but no interested parties have been identified so far, Alexander Shidlovsky noted.
He also reported that in six months of this year, more than 119 thousand square meters of total housing area were commissioned in the region. This includes 46.8 thousand square meters for citizens registered as needing to improve their housing conditions and building with state support. Individual developers commissioned 65.9 thousand square meters.
