More than 60 youth developments are presented at the regional tour of "100 Ideas for Belarus" in Vitebsk
The Vitebsk Regional Institute for the Development of Education became a youth territory of innovation and initiatives. At the regional stage of the competition, their developments were presented in ten nominations: "Energy, including nuclear energy, and energy efficiency", "Agro-industrial technologies and farming", "Industrial and construction technologies", "Healthcare (medical technologies, pharmacy, bio- and nanotechnologies)", "Chemical technologies, petrochemicals", "Information and communication technologies", "Ecology (rational use of natural resources and deep processing of natural resources)", "National security and protection from emergencies", "Society and social sphere", "Best business idea".
– 13 years ago, a correct decision was made at the national level to implement the youth project "100 Ideas for Belarus". The initiatives of young innovators should be supported by the state and local authorities. Each presented development deserves special attention and professional recommendations, – noted the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Anzhelika Nikitina. – For me, the development of our region in terms of innovativeness, high-tech, and new breakthrough ideas is important. The projects presented at the regional stage are interesting, some require further refinement, calculation of economic effect, but there are also completely ready-made products that can be implemented today in enterprises and organizations. Together with the Committee for Economy of the Regional Executive Committee, we will be able to refine innovative products and implement them at least at the district level, as there are many patriotic projects dedicated to the Great Patriotic War, the development of the region, tourism potential, and agriculture.
Anna Zagorskaya and Vasilina Volodkina, students of the Moshkany Secondary School named after A. Gorovets in the Senno district, have developed a recipe for chaga mushroom bread. According to the young innovators, this product, due to its beneficial properties, will be useful for those suffering from allergies, losing weight, or vegetarians.
– Chaga grows on birch trees. We learned that such a recipe exists, but it is not common in Belarus, – said Anna Zagorskaya. – First, we baked bread with the addition of this mushroom, then we started experimenting: we made jam and marmalade. We made the first attempts at home, then presented the idea at school. Then we were invited to the BelExpo forum in Minsk.
Artyom Billei and Daria Rusak, students of the Osveya Secondary School in the Verkhnedvinsk district, presented a project to create a summer tourist camp in the urban-type settlement of Osveya.
– The Verkhnedvinsk region is one of the districts of Vitebsk region most affected by the Great Patriotic War. The main campsite in the urban-type settlement of Osveya is a meadow near an ancient park. We chose it because of its proximity to historically significant places, including the ruins of the Shadursky palace, the execution site of the Osveya ghetto, etc. The project also involves hiking activities in five directions. The camp will bring together 10–15 children from the fifth to the ninth grades who want to follow the routes and work for the benefit of their Motherland. Currently, there is already an application from the Braslav district, – said the participants.
Kirill Roznovsky, a student of Vitebsk Gymnasium No. 3 named after A. Pushkin, presented the project "Food overboard." He proposes to use food waste from the educational institution's canteen as a source of renewable energy.
The names of the winners who will advance to the republican final of the "100 Ideas for Belarus" project will be announced by the jury members today during the summing-up.
The tour is organized by the regional committee of the BRSM with the support of the main department of ideological work and youth affairs, the committee of economy, the main department for education of the regional executive committee, OJSC "Minsk Watch Factory", OJSC "Belagroprombank".
