The majority of conscripts from the Vitebsk region will serve in their home region
Today, about 80 conscripts were sent from the regional collection point in Vitebsk to military units, most of them will serve in the special operations forces.
In total, about 1.5 thousand young men will go to serve in the autumn conscription campaign from the Vitebsk region. "A feature of this autumn conscription is that the timing of the conscription events has been shifted, in particular, the dispatch to the Armed Forces (AF), other troops and military formations. From October 25 to November 5, we are sending to the Armed Forces, military units and organizations of the Ministry of Defense, from November 15 - to the internal troops, border service agencies, the State Security Committee. This is due to the fact that the intensity of combat training in the AF is increasing year by year, and the quality of personnel training is growing. There was a need to start a little earlier and give the new recruits time to prepare in advance," noted the Deputy Military Commissar of the region, Colonel Sergei Kunakhovets. He wished the guys to successfully go through this stage in life, take care of and strengthen their health, and if necessary, talk to their commanders about problems, no one will be indifferent.
Mostly, young men from the Vitebsk region will master army skills in their native region, with the exception of soldiers of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and border guards, who will go to different parts of the country. After arriving at the units, the new recruits will be sent for a two-week isolation.
Groups of young men from districts and cities of the region are arriving at the Vitebsk Regional Military Commissariat, after which they are sent to military units. At the regional collection point, conscripts undergo a medical examination, and issues related to granting deferment, enlistment in the reserve, or exemption from conscription for health reasons are considered.
The dispatch of new recruits, which began today, will continue until November 5, and to other troops and military formations - until November 30. The recruits will take the military oath on November 20. -0-
