A delegation from the Volgograd region paid a business visit to Vitebsk

A delegation from the Volgograd region of the Russian Federation paid a working visit to Vitebsk today. The purpose of the visit was to discuss specific steps for developing comprehensive socio-economic cooperation with the Pridvinye region.
The delegation of our guests, which included representatives of authorities, industry, and the social sphere, was headed by the First Deputy Governor of the Volgograd region – Chairman of the Finance Committee of the Volgograd region, Alexander Dorzheev.

Upon arrival in the city on the Dvina, the Russians went to Victory Square, where they laid flowers at the monument to the liberator soldiers, partisans, and underground fighters of the Vitebsk region. Our guests also laid flowers at the paratroopers' monument in Victory Park. The solemn ceremony was attended by the First Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Oleg Matskevich and the Chairman of the City Executive Committee Nikolai Orlov.
The Russians were interested in the industrial potential of our region. At the "Zhurzhevsky" business center of the "Vitebsk" Free Economic Zone, the guests were received by the head of the administration of the FEZ "Vitebsk", Mikhail Skurat. He spoke about its residents, the investment opportunities of the "Vitebsk" Free Economic Zone, and the industrial potential of its enterprises, and acquainted the guests with the features of the preferential regime of Belarusian FEZs.

Our partners also visited UP "Polymerkonstruktsiya", SPK "Mazolovogaz" UP "Vitebskoblgaz", and OJSC "Vistan".
At the Regional Executive Committee, the delegation of the Volgograd region was received by the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev. Nikolai Nikolaevich noted that the distance between Vitebsk and Volgograd is considerable, however, this will not be an obstacle to more dynamic cooperation between our regions. We have much in common and many points of contact that allow us to actively interact in all spheres of socio-economic life. Alexander Dorzheev and his colleagues expressed satisfaction with the visit to various facilities. The head of the Russian delegation noted the beauty, cleanliness, and coziness of the capital of the Pridvinye region.

The parties signed a plan of measures for cooperation between the Vitebsk region of the Republic of Belarus and the Volgograd region of the Russian Federation.
