Vitebsk region day was held at the import exhibition in Shanghai
More than 10 enterprises from the northern region of Belarus are participating in the event today, presenting their products. Among them are the Vitebsk Meat and Dairy Products concern, Polotsk Dairy Plant, Verkhnedvinsk Butter and Cheese Factory, Lepel MKK branch of Vitebsk Meat Processing Plant, Vitba Confectionery Factory, Naftan plant, Polotsk-Steklovolokno enterprise, and the textile manufacturer Orsha Linen Mill.
Vitebsk Region Day is taking place today at the 6th China International Import Expo in Shanghai, as reported by the Telegram channel "Vitebsk Region. Officially".

On November 7, Vitebsk Region presented its export and investment potential, reflecting the key sectors of the region, informed Konstantin Cherny, First Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Economy Committee:
— This is petrochemistry, the production of composite and electrical insulating materials, the meat and dairy and food industry, flax production and processing, logistics. These areas are successfully developing in China, so during the exhibition, we discussed issues of interaction in the new economic conditions that are currently forming in the world with our Chinese colleagues.
12 enterprises from the northern region, as well as the FEZ "Vitebsk", which has 54 residents representing the main spheres of the region's activities, brought their presentations to the exhibition, noted Konstantin Cherny:
— Taking into account the theme of the import forum, where leading world companies are presented, we are orienting our enterprises towards finding modern technological solutions, equipment, using new types of payments, and goods delivery, where our Chinese partners have accumulated good experience. I would also like to note that the Vitebsk region has established good relations with the provinces of Jiangxi, Heilongjiang, Shandong, Guizhou, and the China-SCO Interregional Cooperation Demonstration Zone. This year alone, we have signed 13 documents covering issues of developing sister city relations, cooperation in scientific and technical, ideological, youth, and educational spheres, as well as agreements between enterprises. In fact, representatives of the Vitebsk region travel to China or host Chinese partners every month.
The enterprises' stands are open throughout the exhibition. The representative delegation of the region was headed by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin:
— Chinese partners are not just looking to trade or buy our products; we are already discussing joint scientific and educational processes and the creation of a technology transfer center. This was even a bit unexpected for us, but I think it's the next step in our relationship.
Participation in the exhibition pursued specific goals, added Konstantin Cherny. In particular, the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee signed a Memorandum of Cooperation for the creation of an Industrial Park in the city of Qingdao (Shandong Province). The tasks of the Industrial Park are to represent the interests of Vitebsk region enterprises in China, to assist in promoting their products, to search for partners, and to work out settlement and logistics schemes. China is attracting specialists with experience in working with Belarusian products, in matters of their customs clearance, certification, advertising in the Chinese market, and the use of electronic trade forms. This type of service is particularly in demand by Belarusian enterprises now.
Konstantin Cherny also emphasized the growing interest of Belarusian business circles in the Celestial Empire:
— For manufacturers in the Vitebsk region, the Chinese market is becoming increasingly promising. Export growth to the PRC regions is gaining momentum. This is evidenced by the figures: this year, compared to the first 8 months of 2022, our supplies have increased 1.4 times, and compared to 2018, by more than 5 times. 25 enterprises of the region carry out exports.
