A family-type children's home was opened in Polotsk
A family-type children's home was opened in Polotsk today, October 14. Representatives of regional and local authorities, public organizations, as well as all those involved in the implementation of this project, became participants in this significant event.
This is the second family-type children's home in the district (the first was opened in 2015 in the agro-town of Zhernoseki). The spacious two-story cottage is fully equipped. It has several bedrooms, a cozy living room and kitchen. There is a courtyard and a spacious territory, which has space for a common recreation area, a playground, as well as for a vegetable garden and an orchard. All children who find themselves in the family will be comfortable growing up here, is convinced the foster parent Anna Vladimirovna Vlasova. Her opinion can be trusted – she has been working as a foster parent at the education department of the Polotsk District Executive Committee since 2006. During this time, she has raised 14 foster children. Her husband, Ivan Sergeevich, an electrician at OJSC "Naftan", is always a reliable support.
Currently, their family is raising their biological and three foster sons. Recently, three more children joined their friendly company. The older children, Artem and Kirill, are 14 years old, and the youngest, Emilia, is three years old, notes Anna Vladimirovna:
— Family-type children's homes are a professional form of upbringing and care for children left without parental care. For our part, we will do everything possible to ensure that their childhood is spent in a friendly family atmosphere, and the children grow up to be good people and true patriots.
The foster parents Anna and Ivan Vlasov were congratulated on their housewarming by the chairman of the Polotsk District Executive Committee, Igor Markovich. He emphasized that children are the greatest wealth of our country. Therefore, measures are constantly being taken in Belarus to support and comprehensively develop the younger generation. The chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies, Dmitry Demidov, focused on the role of parents in each child's family:
— It is significant that the family received the keys to the house on such a date – Mother's Day. A large number of measures are being implemented in Belarus

The number of events, many good deeds are done so that every child grows up in a favorable atmosphere, has the opportunity to learn and develop. This is an unchanging priority of the Head of State and our social policy. A special role in this matter belongs to foster parents who are ready to generously share their care and love with children who, for various reasons, are deprived of these important components. Fortunately, there are many such people in our country, in our region. And on the eve of Mother's Day, we sincerely express our gratitude to them for their work and kind heart.
