A dialogue platform to discuss the draft amendments and additions to the Constitution was held at the Vitebsk Regional Library
A dialogue platform for the active members of organizational structures of public associations and political parties of Vitebsk, with the participation of senior officials of government bodies, was held in the conference hall of the V. I. Lenin Vitebsk Regional Library. The draft amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus were discussed.
At the beginning of the engaging discussion, which left no one in the hall indifferent, the chairperson of the coordination council of city structures of public associations and political parties, the chairperson of the city council of the Belarusian Public Association of Veterans, Larisa Olenskaya, emphasized that Belarus was and remains a country of social guarantees. For this to continue, it is necessary for all of us to show civic consciousness and participate in the republican referendum on constitutional reform.
The chairperson of the Regional Council of Deputies, Vladimir Terentyev, touched upon a number of amendments and additions proposed to be made to the Basic Law, and using simple examples from real life, showed how important they are today.
The chairperson of the City Council of Deputies, Vladimir Belevich, spoke about the socio-economic development of the city over the past year and its prospects for the near future. Vitebsk's economy is alive and developing, despite unfavorable external factors. The updated Constitution, if approved by the people, will make our country even stronger and lay the foundation for tomorrow's well-being.
The director of the Vitebsk branch of the MITSO International University, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Alexander Dedinkin, spoke about the stages of constitutional development in sovereign Belarus and convincingly justified each amendment to the Basic Law.
Several leaders of public associations of the city also spoke. They were unanimous in their opinion that the amendments and additions to the Constitution are timely and meet the realities of the day. The citizen and the state are responsible to each other. The implementation of this principle of mutual responsibility will preserve socio-political stability in the country and ensure its development.
