Dmitry Khoma: "Vitebsk region voters are demonstrating quite high activity"

— Early voting in the Vitebsk region is organized in accordance with electoral legislation. The process is proceeding calmly, and no violations are being recorded; the commission has not received any citizen appeals requiring a response. In our assessment, voters in the Vitebsk region are demonstrating sufficiently high activity.
An integral condition for holding electoral campaigns is publicity, which is realized through the institution of observers. I want to note that since the formation of the commissions, the process of accrediting observers has been very active. Currently, commissions at all levels have accredited over 5.5 thousand citizens as observers; in this regard, our public associations have primarily undertaken significant work. The process of accrediting observers continues until February 27. In addition, polling stations in the Vitebsk region are visited by long-term international observers accredited by the Central Election Commission of Belarus. On the referendum day, February 27, it is planned that participants of international short-term observer missions will also be working with us.
In the Vitebsk region, about 835 thousand people are included in the referendum participant lists. Currently, the commissions are receiving numerous requests from voters regarding voting at home, as well as the possibility of voting at the location of the referendum participant. In this case, the commissions take all necessary measures to exclude the possibility of double voting.
