Youth Days at the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" will be held in a new format
On Friday, July 16, press conferences, open dialogues and open platforms, and performances by the festival headliners will take place on Victory Square. For the first time at the festival, a conference of the Russian-Belarusian Youth Union will be organized, which will mark the beginning of the resumption of this organization's activities. The conference is planned to be attended by the Minister of Education of Belarus Igor Karpov, his Novosibirsk counterpart Sergey Fedorchuk, as well as the State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev.
A youth race along Moskovsky Prospekt, in which 100 athletes, amateurs and professionals will participate, will kick off the main entertainment events on July 17. The first young man and woman to finish the six-kilometer distance will be awarded the main prizes. One of them, as tradition dictates, will be a bicycle, and the second will be a surprise for the winner.
This year, the revived youth art parade will take place, which will proceed along Lenin Street to Victory Square. The festival will host the debut national competition of youth creativity "Fires of New Victories," where vocalists, dancers, and original genre artists will compete. A significant gift for the participants will be a festive fireworks display at the end of the youth festival.
All sports events will also take place on the city's main square. These include the Union State competition in kettlebell lifting and the open regional competitions in the same sports discipline for the Cup of the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. Applications for them are accepted from all over Belarus, as well as from Smolensk, Pskov, and other Russian cities. For those who wish to participate in less strenuous competitions, there will be areas for mini-golf, cricket, basketball, football, as well as board games.
Answering a question from a BELTA correspondent about attracting volunteers from the BRSM ranks, Vladimir Babichev said that young people will not only have fun and participate in creative contests but also provide feasible assistance to the forum organizers. "More than 100 volunteers registered with the 'Slavyansky Bazaar' volunteer center will meet delegations and work at additional venues. They will also be involved in the accreditation issuance event. Volunteer teams will be directly involved in setting up venues and locations for the youth days. Creative delegations from each district of Vitebsk region and other regions of the country will come to the festival, and for their merits at the previous festival, they will be rewarded with rest and participation in the most interesting events. In total, more than 500 participants and volunteers from among the youth from all over the republic and Russian regions will be involved in the festival," noted the first secretary of the BRSM regional committee.
