Drannburger, potato-chocolate cake, and lots of potatoes: the "Bulba – Kartoshka – Potatoes" festival took place in Vitebsk
On Freedom Square in Vitebsk, as part of the II Games of the CIS Countries, the regional gastronomic festival "Bulba-Kartoshka-Potatoes" was held, where potato rolls, chips, traditional draniki, and other dishes made from Belarus's main vegetable were presented, which anyone could try.
Various public catering and educational institutions, as well as ordinary housewives from different parts of our region, presented their potato dishes.
Here, one could not only taste freshly prepared draniki and french fries but also play checkers, compete in assembling jigsaw puzzles, take photos with costumed characters, and enjoy a concert program featuring cultural institutions from different districts of our region.
And for those who were interested in learning about which potato varieties take root best in the Vitebsk region, and how Belarus's main vegetable is grown from a test tube, it was possible to visit the site of RUP "Vitebsk Zonal Institute of Agriculture of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus".
