Vitebsk broiler poultry farm opened two production facilities
The construction of the new sites became part of the state program "Agrarian Business for 2021-2025". They were built with the company's own funds and with the involvement of loans from JSC "ASB Belarusbank".
The first facility is broiler workshop No. 3. It consists of 14 poultry houses, each 120 m long. It is equipped with modern technological equipment from leading global manufacturers. Almost all of it is automated using the latest energy-saving technologies. The workshop allows for raising 672 thousand heads, which will make it possible to increase the production of poultry meat in live weight by more than 12 thousand tons per year.
Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin noted that the poultry factory is developing at an accelerated pace, and today's facilities were commissioned ahead of schedule. "This is one of the most successful and positive examples in our country of how to work, an indicator of what we can do. I was at this workshop (for slaughtering and processing cattle meat. - approx.) less than a month ago and, frankly, I didn't believe we would commission it. But now everything is ready and the workshop will be launched in the near future," he said.
There is a trend in the agriculture of the Vitebsk region and the country towards the formation of large integration structures, so that the enterprise conducts the entire production cycle independently using its own capacities. "Vitebsk Broiler Poultry Factory did not fall under decree No. 70 ("On the Development of the Agro-Industrial Complex of the Vitebsk Region". - ), it developed in parallel, but, as we can see, it has surpassed others many times over in terms of efficiency, technological processes, etc. The enterprise has many plans, and the main thing is not to interfere, they will do everything themselves," the governor concluded.
Another of the enterprise's investment projects is a beef cattle slaughter and processing unit. Its construction became a necessary link in creating a closed-loop technology for meat production at the enterprise. Over the past 12 years, 14 unprofitable collective farms in the Vitebsk region have been merged with the poultry farm, and now the total cattle population is about 15,000. Beef products are planned to be sold not only in Belarus but also in Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and China.
The General Director of Vitebsk Broiler Poultry Factory, Anna Norcus, said that two workshops have become some of the most important investment projects. Thanks to the commissioning of two new facilities, 48 jobs have been created. Br65.1 million was spent on the construction and equipping of the workshops.
"Our huge four-thousand team implements all this together. The opening of such facilities is a common joy for the district, the region, and the country. If there are such projects, we will live well and prosper," said Anna Norcus. She thanked the specialists for their work and the opportunity to open the facilities ahead of schedule.
According to the General Director, the enterprise is still building several workshops. This year, they plan to invest about Br100 million in the development of the factory.
JSC "Vitebsk Broiler Poultry Factory" is the largest holding-type enterprise in the Vitebsk region for the industrial production of poultry meat with a complete production cycle. More than 4.3 thousand people work at the factory. The enterprise operates efficiently and profitably in several areas: poultry farming, production of meat and meat products, dairy and beef cattle breeding, crop production, and feed production. The company is engaged in wholesale trade and has its own retail chain.
