More than 11,000 large families in the Vitebsk region will receive a one-time financial assistance for the new academic year
This was reported to "VV" by the Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Regional Executive Committee. The payment amount for each schoolchild is 109 rubles 32 kopecks, or 30% of the subsistence minimum budget in effect as of August 1, 2023. Please note that to receive such assistance, you should apply to the labor, employment, and social protection authorities in accordance with the registration at the place of residence (place of stay) of one of the child's parents, and in Vitebsk – at the child's place of study.
Volunteers of golden age – activists of the territorial centers for social services – have actively joined the republican campaign "Let's Get Children Ready for School" in Chashniksky District. Everyone strives to make a feasible contribution to helping families in need by purchasing and placing school and stationery supplies in special boxes. 15 families have already received gifts prepared by volunteers.
– We plan to provide one-time financial assistance to almost 290 large families in our district, raising over 600 school-aged children, – said Tatyana Gaponenko, director of the territorial center for social services. – As of August 18, more than 190 families, with almost 400 schoolchildren, have received assistance.
Maxim and Yulia Klochkov couple from the agro-town of Novaya Zarya are raising four children, three of whom are schoolchildren. The husband works at an agricultural enterprise, and the wife works at a kindergarten. They keep a substantial household, cultivating a plot of land with their own tractor. They are used to relying on themselves, but admit that the financial assistance, which they have been applying for for the second year, is very timely.
– Almost 330 rubles is a significant amount for us, – says Yulia. – It was enough for many purchases for the children. Now they are dressed, shod, and have all the necessary school supplies – they are ready for the new academic year!
