The agricultural workers' festival-fair "Dazhynki -2023" in the Vitebsk region will be held in two stages
This concept, tested last year, will also be used this year. This was announced by the Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies, Vladimir Terentyev, at a meeting of the regional headquarters for the preparation and holding of "Dazhynki".
At a working meeting with the participation of the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin and the Aide to the President – Inspector for the Vitebsk Region Igor Brylo, September 29 was approved as the starting date for "Dazhynki" in all district centers, and the concept of honoring rural workers as a whole.
– The festivals in the regions will take place over a month and a half, – explained Vladimir Terentyev. – The regional leadership will visit all district centers. This will give us an opportunity to thank as many deserving rural workers as possible. Moreover, the final event on the eve of their professional holiday will be held in a comfortable, truly festive atmosphere.
"Dazhynki" of the regional level have been held in Vitebsk region since 2009, Sharkovshchina is the 15th district center hosting this large-scale festival. Among the landmark facilities being renovated for the festival-fair is Secondary School No. 1 in Sharkovshchina, where major repairs, equipping classrooms with new furniture, and landscaping are nearing completion. The school will have a comprehensive sports ground with a children's play area, football, volleyball, and basketball courts, and a workout complex.
Sharkovshchina Gas Supply Department has also prepared for "Dazhynki", having modernized its administrative building and warehouses for goods and materials, and built a single-post car wash and a canopy for automotive and tractor equipment.
Significant transformations have affected the Sharkovshchina District Electric Networks: a complete reconstruction of the building complex with the construction of a cash settlement center is being completed here, the reconstruction of power lines with a length of 5.3 km with replacement by cable and 1.8 km by insulated wire, as well as the optimization of seven transformer substations and the construction of three new enclosed substations.
An important housing and social facility is a 40-apartment building, where all apartments are rental. They are planned to be allocated to young specialists employed in various fields of activity.
The renewal of the Sharkovshchina District will not end there: in December 2023, the commissioning of a road bridge over the Yanka River is expected. In January 2024, the first building of the Aleksandrovsky psycho-neurological boarding school for the elderly and disabled, the renovation of which will preserve 150 jobs, is expected. The construction of a second building is planned. Project and estimate documentation for the construction of a sports and recreation complex on the site of the demolished bath and laundry facility is also under development.
Sharkovshchina is being beautified: numerous current repairs of buildings are underway, small architectural forms are being installed, parks and squares are being rejuvenated, asphalt, tiles, and curbs are being laid, and examples of landscaping are visible everywhere.
It is planned that the honoring of the best agricultural workers of the district will take place in the large hall of the district executive committee. Undoubtedly, representatives of construction and other organizations that contribute to the development of the infrastructure of the district center will not be overlooked.
The main stage, where concerts with the participation of creative groups from the region and a headliner from among the celebrities of Belarusian pop music will be held, is being installed near the building of the district culture center.
On September 29-30, festive areas – trade, interactive, and creative – will be set up in the most beautiful and convenient parts of the town.
– Within two weeks, it is necessary to decide which streets will acquire pedestrian status for the duration of the holiday, – Vladimir Terentyev instructed the participants of the headquarters meeting. – It is important to think about what interesting things we will offer visitors.
It has already been decided that these will be the traditional venues of Vitebskhlebprom enterprises, the Main Department for Education, the State Automobile Inspectorate, the Internal Affairs Directorate, the Department for Emergency Situations, and an exhibition of agricultural machinery. Trade rows will be set up with the participation of objects of Vitebsk and Dokshytsy district consumer cooperatives, shops and public catering facilities of Novopolotsk and Polotsk. Additions are possible.
– Modest, hardworking Sharkovshchina deserves a celebration, – summed up Vladimir Terentyev. – We must give it to the people, try to make sure that it passes in an organized, warm manner, surprises and pleases the residents of Sharkovshchina and their guests.
