Photo report: A primary school built on a unique project has opened in Vitebsk
The entire microdistrict, where many large families live, was waiting for this housewarming. Parents are happy that an educational institution that their children can attend has finally appeared within walking distance.
– This event is significant both for Vitebsk and for the entire country, as this school is an experimental project in the republic. I am confident that it will become an example of modern education, a center for patriotic and moral upbringing. Much will depend on the teaching staff, which is the foundation of any educational institution. It combines both experienced teachers and about 40 graduates of specialized universities. The fusion of youth and experience, I believe, will yield good results, – noted the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Igor Sergeenko, who took part in the festive ceremony dedicated to Knowledge Day and the opening of the new school.
On behalf of the deputies of the House of Representatives, he presented the school principal Ilona Marchenko with an interactive panel.
On four floors of a modern educational institution, designed for 850 places, everything is provided for the comprehensive development of children. The children have access to music, sports and fitness rooms, a swimming pool, a library, computer classes, a language laboratory, and much more. A barrier-free environment has been created here: ramps have been installed, a lift in the pool, and tactile tiles have been laid.
– A truly unique project has been implemented in Vitebsk, which we have been talking about for a long time. This combination of preschool and primary school education carries many meanings. The main one is a smooth, seamless transition of children from kindergarten to school. An important aspect is the saving of resources, ensuring high quality of upbringing and education through the most modern technologies. There are no other schools like this in our country. Another distinctive feature is that about 40 percent of the teachers are young specialists. We will closely monitor your development, studies, and staff retention. If successful, similar facilities will appear in other regions, – expressed hope the Head of the Administration of the President of Belarus Dmitry Krugovoy, who came to the celebration not empty-handed, but with a certificate for 15 thousand rubles for the development of the material and technical base.
The chairman of the regional executive committee Alexander Subbotin presented a certificate for 10 thousand rubles to the school principal.
– I am sure that the children who will study at this school will be the best in Belarus and in the world. This has been repeatedly confirmed by schoolchildren from the Vitebsk region, who have taken first place in the number of awards at olympiads. This educational institution has everything to instill a love for science, knowledge, and creativity. I think that future champions, scientists, and outstanding creative personalities will emerge from here. The main thing is to raise a true citizen, an intelligent, kind, and responsive person, – emphasized the head of the region.
