Head of Vitebsk region Nikolai Sherstnev highly praised the work of the enterprise "Belfood Production" in Vitebsk district
Since the beginning of this year, the company has produced 105 million packages of products. The plant also cooperates with global brands in the field of baby food. "We supply more than half of our products for export: mainly to Russia, but also to the near abroad, China, and Moldova. We follow global trends in the food industry, especially in the baby food sector. For the last few years, products in soft packaging have been in demand. Understanding this, we are installing new equipment, and recently launched the third line for the production of baby food in Gualapak packaging. We plan to expand production in the coming years," said Vitaly Belov, General Director of "BelFood Production" LLC.
Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Nikolai Sherstnev noted that the enterprise is a good example of cooperation between the state and a private investor. Five years ago, the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, for its part, helped the investor with organizational issues to launch production. "The former Vitebsk Fruit and Vegetable Processing Plant had served its purpose: the equipment and work approaches were outdated, specialists and management did not know what to do with the territory and the enterprise as a whole. In 2016, a solution was found - the investor offered his ideas, and we met him halfway. We observe annually how the plant operates, the investor fulfills his promises with flying colors: he completely replaced the equipment, and instead of the initially hired 50 employees, more than 300 people work today. The enterprise is profitable, and its products are in demand," said Nikolai Sherstnev. The enterprise has occupied its niche, adheres to strict quality requirements for children's products, and understands how to develop further.
The baby food plant started operating in the agro-town of Novka, Vitebsk district, in March 2016. The enterprise produces baby food preserves (fruit and vegetable, fruit, meat, and fish), fruit and vegetable juices. The plant produces an average of 12 million packages monthly. The quality and safety of the products are confirmed by EAEU state registration certificates. BelFood Production LLC became the first baby food producer in Belarus within the European organic product certification system (EURO-LEAF). All products are manufactured under the control of the European partner - B.P.G. European Baby Food Limited.
