Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin discussed with the Deputy Khokim of the Kashkadarya region of Uzbekistan Alisher Zakirov the progress of the implementation of the Cooperation Agreement between the regions
It concerns the trade-economic, scientific-technical, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.
Welcoming the Uzbek guest, Alexander Subbotin stated that his arrival at the XI International Economic Forum "Innovations. Investments. Prospects" held in Vitebsk is further evidence of the seriousness of intentions. During last year's visit of the delegation of the Vitebsk region to Uzbekistan, several breakthrough areas beneficial to both sides were identified.
Alisher Zakirov reported that the Kashkadarya region is interested in supplying veterinary drugs, baby food, and wastewater treatment systems. He also indicated the need to develop tourist exchange, which is at a very low level. For example, last year, only 50 tourists from Belarus visited the Kashkadarya region. Yet, historical sites such as Samarkand and Bukhara are located near the region. Alisher Zakirov proposed organizing mutual informational familiarization tours for tour operators.
The Uzbek side also showed interest in school furniture and varieties of oilseed flax, the fibers of which are planned to be added to cotton during fabric production. One of the woodworking companies has prepared a technological proposal for the supply of structures for the construction of wooden houses.
Alisher Zakirov presented Alexander Subbotin with a gift from the Khokim of the Kashkadarya region Murotjon Azimov.
