Civil servants and employees of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee took part in a water trip dedicated to the Day of National Unity

Госслужащие и сотрудники Витебского облисполкома приняли участие в водном походе, приуроченном ко Дню народного единства
The event was aimed at patriotic, spiritual, and ecological education, preservation of the traditions of mass tourism, development of interest in natural attractions, and popularization of active recreation. The organizers were structural divisions of the regional executive committee and regional trade union organizations.

The water trip program consisted of three stages: tourist, local history, and sports and entertainment. The starting point of the route was the village of Zapolie, where participants were greeted with bread and salt by local residents, and a commemorative rally and laying of flowers at the war memorial took place. After that, 13 kayaks (two people per team) paddled down the Usvyacha River for three hours to the settlement of Novoselki.

State Belarusian symbols were present on each boat. Upon completion of the event, all participants received commemorative diplomas signed by Vyacheslav Durnov, Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.

– It was very atmospheric and emotional! And although many participated in a similar trip for the first time, it was clearly felt: together we are strength. My colleague and I became winners and finished first. It was not easy, but I believe we coped with the difficulties with dignity! – said Lilia Lukasheva, chief specialist of the Committee for Agriculture and Food of the Regional Executive Committee.

– The event is very interesting and memorable! Our large team acted in unison. We want such fun, kind, and significant events to be held year after year, – shared her impressions Marina Gudym, chief specialist of the department for the disposal of state property of the regional executive committee.
– It is symbolic that employees of various structural divisions of the regional executive committee and residents of the Vitebsk region took part in the event dedicated to the Day of National Unity, – noted Denis Shkiryanov, Deputy Head of the Department of Sports and Tourism. – This approach has been carried out for the second year in a row, but this time the number of its participants has significantly increased. For those who have never rafted down the river, the distance became a difficult test, but we reached the finish line as a truly cohesive team, and every small victory turned into shared great emotions!
