Interactive swings, floating fountain. The Park of the 1000th Anniversary of Vitebsk has been opened after reconstruction
Sports, play, and relaxation areas for the whole family have appeared in the Park of the 1000th Anniversary of Vitebsk after reconstruction. The renovated facility was opened in a solemn ceremony on the regional center's birthday.
Several residential areas of Vitebsk are adjacent to the Park of the 1000th Anniversary, and it attracts many visitors, especially during the summer heat. People come here to sit on the bank of the artificial reservoir, stroll along the paths with strollers, and fishing enthusiasts cast their lines on quiet evenings. The facility had long been in need of major changes, and now, for the city's anniversary, the residents of Vitebsk have received a truly precious gift.
A catamaran rental station has appeared by the reservoir for leisurely rides accompanied by ducks and seagulls that have favored this spot. In the evenings, the floating fountain will create a special atmosphere with its bright illumination.
Children now have a place to have fun - a spacious modern playground with slides and swings has been equipped for them, as well as a play area with outdoor chess and a mini-golf course. Children with disabilities will also be able to relax here, as special inclusive swings have been installed for them. A twisted arch for romantic photos has been equipped for couples in love. Futuristic interactive swings and benches with illuminated canopies can be tried out by both children and adults.
Fans of active recreation will also find plenty of useful things here. A multifunctional field for mini-football and streetball, and a workout area - the sports component of the park is now very strong.
The celebration for the nearby neighborhoods turned out to be particularly memorable, partly thanks to the artists who created a festive atmosphere at the opening ceremony. Living sculptures, costumed characters, and performers from the youth theater "Koleso" walking on stilts delighted both children and adults immensely. An outdoor painting session was organized for young artists, where boys and girls depicted the city – carousels, fountains, buildings, and fireworks over their native Vitebsk. And the mobile fountain, spraying cool rain from the rescuers, became the most popular attraction for visitors to the renovated park on the hot day.
